Many thoughtful friends and family members have asked what we need as we prepare for Zachary’s arrival. We’re so blessed to have people like you in our lives! David and I pretty much have bought most of the basic items, however there are some stuff which we have KIV-ed for the time being (nice-to-have, but not urgently required). I’ve decided to put them up in our baby registry—and if you wish to bless our Zachary with a gift, perhaps you can start with some ideas in this wish list!

As un-Asian as this would be, I hope that it’s not too weird to share with the people closest to us on what we really need, rather than them getting 2 or 3 of the same items that we already have. I guess it just makes sense to be honest and upfront about it. I do hope we don’t offend or cheese off anyone who may find this wish list rude and unconventional.

I am planning to breastfeed exclusively for 6 months, and this item would be a life-saver when I get back to work after my maternity leave. It’ll make warming up stored breast milk a breeze, especially when Zachary is at the baby sitter’s. I’ve decided to sterilize all of Zachary’s feeding bottles the old school way (using hot water) so this drying rack will be a gem to have. The patented design folds flat so I can store it away in a snap. Me being so anal about having everything in order, this is the perfect drying rack organizer to have for his bottles!

When Zachary starts to crawl I will need to have a playpen where I can leave him when I’m doing housework or when I’m occupied in the kitchen. This will probably be useful too if we spend our weekends over in Kajang with David’s parents. This MyDear playpen/travel cot is a very basic model which will serve just that purpose. Lightweight and with lockable wheels, it’s a great nice-to-have item for every parent.

Every parent will encounter some sort of infant pee/poo booboo. And I’m not too crazy about leakages, especially on car seats or strollers. Cloth diapers
These environmentally friendly alternatives to disposable diapers are the way forward. We have invested in 3 of these however we need another 9 more pieces to make 24/7 cloth diapering a success (meaning enough diapers to change, wash and leave to dry and still meet baby’s changing requirements). It is definitely more economical to use cloth diapers (although the start up cost will be higher) but with these reusable diapers we can do our bit to reduce the growing landfill in our country. These KasihkuSayangku One Size Cloth Diapers allows the diaper to grow from small, medium to large which means we can use them until Zachary is potty trained. Taking extra care of the cleaning process will also extend the life of the diapers, which means we can use them for our #2!
