Muffin Update #5

I went for my 27th week check up last Saturday with my usual Doc. Lets start with some stats:

  • EDD is 8 April 2010
  • 27 weeks to date (3 months to go woot!)
  • No information about exact size, though Doc did mention Muffin is like 2 weeks larger than he’s supposed to be *gasp*
  • 7 ultrasound scans to date (with 2 printouts + 1 DVD)

The pregnancy has been progressing well since I last had my check up 2 months ago. There was one thing I had to look out for was to be careful of the weight gain as my baby may be too large. Don’t wanna risk having to go for a c-section. I really, really don’t want to! So for this month, I have to watch what I’m eating, and try to stay away from those sweet cravings and anything that has no nutritional value – die lah, go Penang on Jan 16th eat what then?

Then to add on to my kesian-ness, my only pair pre-pregnancy jeans which I could still hold up unbuttoned but with a belly band was like sooper dooper tight around my hips. Sigh … hips still widening meh? So no choice lah have to wear stretchable and maternity pants.

Muffin has been very active, creating a ruckus in my belly. He likes to kick when I push my stomach against the table (during meals or at the computer), and he’s been moving a lot every day. Everyday I look forward to the moments when he moves around and sometimes when he jerks really hard I actually find myself talking to my belly and asking him, what’s up?

As for shopping for Muffin’s stuff, we’re pretty much 90% there! All we’re left with is getting his cot, the mattress and sheets, a bath tub, a pack of newborn disposable diapers for his 1st couple of days AND a can of milk powder to standby for unforeseen emergencies! Doubt that we’d have to make formula milk for him since I intend to breastfeed 100% but if we had to I think David will kelam kabut on which to buy at the very last minute.

We also got a couple of Christmas presents meant for Muffin, including a pacifying pillow from Grace and a super cool onesie with an Apple logo on it all the way from the US of A from Leona. Thanks girlfriends!!

Are we prepared for Muffin? Mentally no … physically yes? We signed up for a pre-natal class to help with the former, so fingers crossed it’ll be a learning experience for the both of us. I’m now looking around for a babysitter in Kota Kemuning. Yes, I think ahead. If anyone knows anybody please help?

P/S: Once we get our maternity photoshoot pics back we’ll post ‘em up AND announce the name that we’ve chosen for our lil boy in that blog post! :)

usually the hospital will give you a tin of the formula milk to bring home and then you can follow on from there. Its up to you or the goat’s milk but ya, in most cases, the hospital will always give the mother a tin of formula milk to bring home with you… =)

Only private hospitals give tinned milk coz they have contracts with milk companies, govt or semi govt r banned from mentioning anything about cow’s milk, i guess that’s one thing to love about govt hosp, they leave mums only one choice, breast.
